KIERAN GOSS HEADS BACK TO THE U.K.
ON TOUR, OCTOBER–DECEMBER 2011
Kieran Goss is heading back to the U.K. on tour this winter. He will be the Special Guest on Eddi Reader’s tour, starting on Tuesday 25th October in Sheffield. Eddi was a guest of Kieran’s at his shows at The Grand Opera House, Belfast, earlier this year. KIERAN GOSS INVITED TO BE SPECIAL GUEST ON FAIRPORT CONVENTION’S U.K. ‘WINTOUR’, JANUARY/FEBRUARY/MARCH 2012
Kieran has been invited to appear as a special guest on Fairport Convention’s ‘Wintour’ 2012 in the United Kingdom.
The tour starts on 21st January in Oxford and runs until 10th March, when it finishes up at Union Chapel, London. Thirty one shows have already been confirmed and more shows are to be added in the coming months. Keep an eye on the Fairport Convention website for further updates.

BBC RADIO ULSTER TO BROADCAST BELFAST OPERA HOUSE 2011 SHOW
BBC Radio Ulster’s ‘Folk Club’ will be broadcasting highlights of the most recent Kieran Goss and Friends shows, which were recorded at The Grand Opera House, Belfast, earlier this year.
On 20th August, the first half of the show is to be broadcast, featuring sets from Brendan Murphy and Maura O’Connell along with an interview Kieran recorded with ‘Folk Club’ presenter Colum Sands.
A second broadcast on 27th August includes sets from Eddi Reader and Tom Paxton.

Following the huge success of his sold out run of shows at The Grand Opera House, Belfast, in March 2008, Kieran Goss is returning to the Opera House for two nights: Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd April, 2011.
Joining Kieran for these two very special shows will be the legendary American songwriter, TOM PAXTON (The Last Thing on My Mind, Ramblin’ Boy, Bottle of Wine), the fantastic Scottish singer EDDI READER, the voice of Fairground Attraction, whose single, Perfect, and album, The First of a Million Kisses, both topped the British charts, one of Ireland’s finest singers, MAURA O’CONNELL (The Scholar, Trouble in the Fields, Feet of a Dancer) and BRENDAN MURPHY, lead singer of chart topping band The Four Of Us, whose debut solo album, Walk With Me, is simply stunning. ATHLONE AND KILKENNY SHOWS: RESCHEDULED DATES
The Athlone and Kilkenny shows which were cancelled due to bad weather in December have both been rescheduled.
The Athlone show at The Olive Grove will now be on Thursday, 27th January 2011 and the Kilkenny show at The Set Theatre is on Saturday, 5th March 2011. Booking details are available here on the tour dates page of the website.

The Athlone show scheduled for Thursday 2nd December and The Kilkenny show for Saturday 4th December 2010 have both been cancelled due to bad weather.

IRISH ‘LIVE AND SOLO’ TOUR FOR NOVEMBER / DECEMBER 2010
2010 has been a busy year for Kieran with tours in Germany, Switzerland, the U.S.A, Canada and the U.K. And because his increasing commitments abroad mean that he’s spending less and less time at home in Ireland, Kieran is particularly looking forward to his forthcoming ‘Live and Solo’ tour on home turf:
This year has been really hectic, but I’m excited about the opportunities that are being offered to me, particularly in the States and Canada. It looks like we’ll be spending a lot of time there next year as well, but you know, I’m always glad to get home again. I love touring in Ireland and it’s been a long time since I’ve toured solo, so I’m planning on playing a few of the old songs that I don’t get a chance to do with the trio when we’re on tour abroad and also some new stuff I’ve been writing for the next album.
Anyone who saw Kieran on his last sold out tour in Ireland two years ago will testify that his show is an evening of great songs sung from the heart and more... it’s an unforgettable and uplifting night out.

GARY GILLEN: A TRIBUTE
Gary Gillen was our Lighting Engineer and more importantly, our great friend for more than 15 years. We were devestated to learn of his death last night.
Along with Vinnie Higgins on sound (Vincenté y Geraldo!), we toured the length and breadth of Ireland together and came to rely on Gary to, in his own words, “turn any fuckin’ toilet into a real gig.” Gary was an artist and a perfectionist and he would often stay behind long after the sound check because he wanted everything to look just right. He cared about what he did and he cared about people. We will miss his warmth, his hilarious, sarcastic sense of humour, his friendship, his company and his love. The world is a lesser place without him in it. Annie and I send our love and sympathy to his family and many friends around the world, and especially to Vinnie and Tina. We wish we could be there with you today.
We love you and will miss you always Gary. Thank you for being our friend.

FOR THE RECORD TOUR: EXTRA SHOWS ADDED FOR GERMANY AND SWITZERLAND, APRIL/MAY 2010
Kieran is currently on tour in Germany and despite snow and freezing conditions, the first six shows sold out. Thanks to everyone who showed up, especially those who travelled long distances in the snow. Because of the huge success of the January tour, 16 extra shows have been added to the For The Record tour in Germany and Switzerland in April and May 2010. Click here for a full list of dates. We’re delighted to have BRENDAN MURPHY joining us for the extra shows as special guest. He’ll be accompanied by his brother Declan Murphy on guitar. Kieran and Brendan have been lifelong friends and have written many songs together including Clear Day, The Reason Why, Into Your Arms and Why Should I Be Lonely. Brendan is currently recording his first solo album. We’ve heard some of the early recordings and they’re fantastic: great songs, amazing vocals and gorgeous arrangements. If you’re coming along to the April/May shows, be sure to get there early to catch his set.

NEW ALBUM: FOR THE RECORD
Kieran has just finished putting the finishing touches to a new limited-release album titled For The Record. The album will be available at shows from January 2010 and from here on the website from February 2010. Kieran explains:
“For The Record is a side project I’d been entertaining for a long time. It came about because I have many songs in my back catalogue that aren’t available on previous albums, but that I’ve been playing live for years. There are also a couple of cover versions in there too. It’s only now that I’m getting around to documenting them and I’m really happy to have finally got these songs down on tape.”
“The album was recorded live in the studio in County Antrim, Northern Ireland; just myself, Annie and Gareth sitting in a circle playing music... It was a lot of fun to record and we’re really looking forward to performing the songs in Germany and Switzerland next January. Initially For The Record will be available only at the live shows, then from February 2010 it will be available from the website.”
